Snakes was a character from the film Angels with Filthy Souls and its remake.

Biography[]

Angels with Filthy Souls[]

In a scene from the film, he was told by his boss, Acey, to go to Johnny's office to deliver some unidentified "stuff" and get some cash. However, Johnny brandished a Tommy Gun and killed him.^[1]

Kevin watched Angels with Filthy Souls after being left home alone while eating a large bowl of ice cream and was startled by Snakes's death, pausing the film and calling for his mother.^[1]

The following night, while Kevin paid for his cheese pizza, he fast-forwarded through Snakes' parts in order to use Johnny's speaking voice to communicate with the pizza man. The next day on Christmas Eve, Kevin used the scene where Johnny killed Snakes to deter burglar Marv Murchins, lighting firecrackers to accompany the film's gunfire making it sound like a real gun. After running away, Marv tells Harry that he heard Johnny and Snakes talking, and also says that he recognized Johnny's voice and heard the name Snakes before and said that Snakes sounded like a snake.^[1]

Remake[]

The remake repeated the above scene from the original, but with Johnny's office located on a spaceship.^[2]

Trivia[]

• It's implied that Marv has seen Angels with Filthy Souls before since he told Harry that he recognized Johnny's voice and even heard the name Snakes before.
• It's possible that Johnny had already killed Acey before Snakes even arrived.
• In the original script, Snakes is instead named Winston.
• Similar to Carlotta while tricking the hotel staff from the Plaza Hotel, Kevin pauses Snakes' lines while tricking the pizza boy.
